Every year Oxford Dictionaries makes a shortlist for its words of the year. This year's list reflects the current political climate with the word "post-truth" being selected as its 2016 international word of the year.
Post-truth follows June's Brexit vote and the US presidential election and is defined as an adjective relating to circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than emotional appeals.
